This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the city's stormwater system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Repairs storm sewer structures.
Performs dye tests of storm sewer structures to ensure proper water flow.
Excavates and repairs underground pipes and structures.
Inspects and cleans high flow areas following rainstorms.
Repairs driveways and yards.
Cleans basins and unclogs storm lines.
Operates excavator, skid loader, backhoe, and other assigned equipment.
Makes improvement and updates to the stormwater system.
Assists with snow removal.
Performs related duties.
Additional Knowledge Required
Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of municipal stormwater systems.
Knowledge of the operation and preventive maintenance of a variety of equipment.
Knowledge of small engine repair and maintenance.
Skill in the operation of assigned specialized equipment.
Skill in the use of hand and power tools.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Missouri for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
